Workshops
Engage in hands-on learning
Workshops from the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development connect learners from different backgrounds with research-backed solutions to the challenges of market design and regulation in today’s energy markets. Workshops use the Energy Market Game as a teaching and policy prototyping tool in coordination with e-Learning and interactive lecture and discussion with PESD Director Frank Wolak and PESD Associate Director Mark Thurber.
Short courses are typically conducted over one to two days for in-person events and eight or nine hours over two to three days for remote events. Remote events take advantage of the “breakout group” functionality in Zoom to let participant teams strategize together—and interact intensively with instructors who visit their breakout groups—before returning to the main room to see and discuss market results with the whole group.
