Day-Ahead Markets module added to e-Learning suite
The Program on Energy and Sustainable Development published a new Day-Ahead Markets s e-learning module, the seventh module in the Fundamentals of Wholesale Electricity Markets course. The module explores how day-ahead markets work and how they can increase energy reliability while managing ratepayer costs.
Users are greeted with a challenge from our familiar ACME generating company CEO: when is it profitable to turn on their high start-up cost unit?
The Day-Ahead Markets module is the latest in PESD's short (30-60 minutes per course), highly interactive modules that aim to teach policy-relevant market principles. These tools can provide a common vocabulary and understanding of energy market operation across a diverse group of learners.
