From April 21 to 24, PESD Director Frank Wolak delivered two, two-day electricity market workshops in Santiago, Chile with Juan Ricardo Inostroza and Ignacio Alarcón Arias from Cursos Estratégia Mercado Eléctrico (Me³).

Using the Energy Market Game, participants explored how wholesale markets work with a variety of scenarios, including with single settlement and multiple settlement, with and without fixed-price contracts, with cost market and supply market, the role of variable generation forecasts, the challenge of simplified zonal markets designs, and multi-settlement wholesale markets.
